Japanese 7-Elevens have been unable to keep up with demand thanks to Square Enix including codes for Final Fantasy XIV on soft drinks which allow players to collect points that can be redeemed for in-game items. It now looks like North American gamers will get a shot at the Crag Masks, Housemaid Attire, and the White Fat Chocobo mount!

Yoshida announced that discussions had begun between Square Enix during the PAX East Q&A. There hasn't been an official statement and no further details have been released. The questions of when codes will be available, what in-game items will be moved over and which retailer(s) will have codes available have yet to be answered.
